A Workforce Crisis Is Upon Us
Luckily, You Can Help

The workforce skills gap has many industries on edge while communities and educational institutions are scrambling to renew interest in manufacturing careers. The Midlothian Workforce/Careers Scholarship Fund aims to help fuel this interest, readying a skilled, technical workforce for a successful career with industry partners in Midlothian.

In partnership with local industry, Midlothian Economic Development (MED) is contributing initial funding to the TSTC Foundation’s Texan Success Scholarship — an “open fund” capable of receiving additional contributions from any person or organization. MED is seeking industry partners to contribute to the fund to help local students advance their education and increase the community’s pipeline of skilled workforce.

Each scholarship will be $1,000 and will benefit TSTC students from Midlothian or from within the boundaries of the Midlothian ISD. As the city of Midlothian evolves with unprecedented levels of growth, it is taking steps to secure a solid workforce and supportive business environment for decades to come.

“Partnerships like this one are critical to addressing the skills gap and helping to train more middle-skilled workers. It isn’t often that the local school district, economic development, industry, and training institutions collaborate at this level. This is an innovative collaboration to accelerate TSTC enrollment and provide more graduates to the industry.”

- Marcus Balch, Provost for TSTC North Texas

Why Should You Contribute to the Scholarship?

  • The scholarship will ultimately provide more trained technicians to the Midlothian workforce, specifically industry partners in the community.
  • The TSTC Foundation has been designated a 501(c)(3) by the IRS which allows for the contribution to be tax deductible within the limits of the law.
  • In years when approved, contributions to the fund will be matched by TSTC, and any unused donated funds will carry over to future years.
