Midlothian Economic Development, in partnership with the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce, is committed to helping local businesses grow, lead, and thrive. From expert-led classes that fuel expansion to a grant program that supports advertising beyond city limits, we provide real tools for real business success.
The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce’s Business Academy offers monthly, full-day classes led by an experienced business coach, covering the essential building blocks of running a successful business. There is a registration fee for materials and lunch.
The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce’s Business Before Business is a morning networking event that features a guest speaker covering a relevant business topic. It provides local professionals with insights and practical knowledge to support their growth. The event also offers a casual setting for building connections and exchanging ideas before the workday begins. This is a free event, Chamber membership is not required.
As part of its ongoing commitment to serve local businesses MED is offering a free training program. Designed to educate Midlothian business owners on leveraging local incentive programs to expand their operations. The four-week training series is designed to help established businesses expand their operations.
Midlothian Economic Development has established the Midlothian Promotional Grant Program to support local businesses in attracting customers to our city. This initiative is intended to provide eligible businesses, including non-profit businesses, with promotional funds to highlight their businesses and attract customers from outside our city. Through this Program, the MED will reimburse up to 50% of advertising expenses upon the completion of the promotional campaign.
