The Midlothian Business Expansion Pitch Competition is designed for businesses ready to grow right here in Midlothian.

This competition gives you the opportunity to compete for funding and resources to make it happen.
Competition Structure
Two Categories
- Micro/ Home Based Businesses: For smaller businesses or home-based operations ready for their next step.
- Open Category: For established businesses pursuing growth or expansion.
- Application Period: Participants must submit an online application, including a business plan and a no more than 3-minute pitch video.
- Pitch Video Guidelines: Videos will be evaluated on the strength and clarity of the business idea being presented, not on the quality of video production. Applicants are encouraged to focus on clearly communicating their concept rather than on editing or technical polish.
- Finalist Selection: A select number of finalists will be chosen from each category to advance to the Final Pitch Event. The selection will be done by the Chamber Education and Workforce Committee.

Final Pitch EVent
The Local Business Event of the Year
On September 10, finalists will take the stage in a high-energy live event is where Midlothian comes together to support local business growth.
Attendees help select the Audience Favorite winner.
Free 60-90-Second Promo Video: Each finalist will receive a professionally produced video to highlight their business or product, which they can use for marketing beyond the competition.
Everyone who RSVP’s will get a free meal ticket when they attend the event. RSVP is not required to attend the event.
